2026 EPC Semifinals Northampton (2) vs. Liberty (6)

6:22 PM This could have been one of the highest scoring quarters in conference history….if this was 1925. Here we are in 2026 and at the end of the first quarter the score is 2-2. That’s all I have to write. Let’s see what happens in the second.

With 2:25 left in the half, the score is up to 10-7 Northampton. There is more energy in the second stanza, invoking more energy from the fans. The shot coming to PA is a must. We have to wait until the 2028-2029 season.

6:33 PM And at the half, Northampton is up 12-8 over Liberty.

6:48PM With 4:08 left in the third, Northampton leads 15-13. Northampton continues with running their 5-man weave action. Liberty is content with minimal ball pressure allowing Northampton to run clock and work to get that shot they want. Quin Lucas-Bishop is active around the basket on the offensive end with his rebounding and a nice interior bucket. A couple missed foul shots and offensive rebounds by Liberty is keeping them in the game. With 1:53 left in the third, Liberty calls timeout down 20-18.

7:05PM Liberty decided to go down low and take advantage of the 6’8 Lucas-Bishop, they now lead 25-24 with 3:18 remaining.

7:12PM And with 1:18 left in the game, Northampton calls timeout with the ball and up 28-25. If I were to bet on what happens next, I’d say they will hold the ball to run the clock out. The real question is what will Liberty do?

7:14PM Well, the let the clock run down to 46.2 before fouling. They had a foul to give and now after fouling again, Northampton gets to the line goes up by 5. Liberty called timeout. Coming out of the timeout, Liberty throws it right to Northampton and after a quick foul, Northampton hits their free throws.

7:18PM Game over: 34-25.
